The Best Choice 2023 winner, the Salvimar Noah, an amazingly outstanding mask, considering it was launched 8 years ago, wins the Best Value 2024 prize. Unbeatable mix of field of view and internal volume

Comfort and water tightness
But the C4 Condor mask does not limit its supremacy to these two important parameters, which honestly are also important in freediving and scuba diving, even if not as for spearfishing. The new mask by C4 Carbon, tested by the International Apneapassion Team, has evidenced incredible comfort and water sealing effect. This is obtained thanks to a special design of the skirt, with double border and a profile very parallel to the one of the face of the diver. Also, the choice of the silicone has been key.
A winning mask, but to be used properly
As in any sport the top quality equipment sometimes can be a little bit less intuitive to use. The extreme design of the C4 Condor mask, with big lenses close to the eyes, requires a little attention. In particular, the strap of the mask must not be tightened too much. This is actually true for any diving mask, and usually less experienced divers tend to tighten the rear strap too much thinking of obtaining a perfect seal. This is not true, as the deformation of the skirt actually can limit the sealing effect. Additionally, as said one of the strong elements of the C4 Condor is indeed the sealing effect. The mask must be simply positioned on the face with minimal traction generated by the rear band. Even with such low force pulling the mask on the face, the water tightness is insured. Even with some beard and mustache the C4 Condor is able to offer great water seal, as also tested by our Champion Daniel Gospic. Pulling the mask more could generate, due to large lenses very close to the eyes, some discomfort.
Another point to take care of is the cleaning to avoid any fogging. The C4 Condor, as many frameless masks, tends to fog up. So, a good process of deep cleaning, first with a windproof lighter and then eventually with anti fog spray, such as the C4 new Absolute Cleaner & Extreme Antifog, is needed and must be done eventually more than once.
The C4 Condor is the best spearfishing mask, but the Salvimar Noah and the Beuchat Shark are great alternatives, depending of course on how they fit on your face.
