The top of the line and with the highest line capacity reel by Cetma Composites is the Carbon Reel V90. An amazingly light but strong solution for the most performing spearguns, such as the Urgano and the Canova, by the Italian Company. Let’s see all the details of the Cetma Carbon Reel V90.

Lightweight, High-Capacity Speargun Reel

The CETMA Carbon Reel V90 stands out as a product designed with a clear engineering approach: lightweight structure, advanced composites, and a capacity suited for challenging fish.

Construction and Materials

The reel is built using 3 mm carbon fiber discs, a choice that aims to combine rigidity with weight reduction. The internal support is made of Derlin (acetal resin), a polymer well-known for mechanical stability and low friction, and the axle in steel. This combination positions the V90 among the more technically advanced reels on the market, oriented toward durability in saltwater environments.

The base of the V90 is of great dimensions and made in Delrin for a light and strong solution. It connects safely to the speargun thanks to two steel screws.

Key element

When you think about the Cetma Carbon Reel V90 mounted on one of the amazing spearguns by Cetma Composites, such as the Canova R1 or, even more powerful, the Uragano, you understand the fish that could be caught are big and powerful ones. Dogtooth tunas, wahoos, great amberjacks, are the dream catch that you want with these spearguns. For such reason, the V90 is build with a mix of carbon fiber, Derlin and steel, making it incredibly light, tough and resistant. The central axle is made of steel. This is an additional solution to give the entire structure the maximum resistance and durability.

Micrometric easy to adjust clutch

A key element of the Cetma Carbon Reel V90 is the presence of a clutch. This is easily adjustable thanks to a a nicely designed star-shaped knob with three gripping lobes for a strong, secure hold. The clutch works with the classic O-Ring system, which in this case has generous dimensions for a longer lasting solution. A nice ratchet system with a retractable steel sphere additionally improves the ease of the adjustment of the clutch.

Key Specifications

Model: Carbon Reel V90

Reel diameter: 100 mm

Height of the central body: 5.5 cm

Capacity: 90 m of 1.5 mm line

Weight: 200 g

Structure: 3 mm carbon discs + Derlin body + Steel axle

General design: Lightweight, corrosion-resistant, vertical wire guide depending on setup

These figures place the reel in a category where high line capacity and low weight are essential—particularly for long shots, deep diving grounds, or situations where the spearo may need a generous reserve of line.

Field Context and Considerations

High capacity for its weight: 90 m of 1.5 mm dyneema at only 200 g is a strong technical ratio.

Composite-based design: Carbon plus Derlin plus Steel provides a balance between stiffness and impact resistance.

Large spool diameter: The 100 mm size helps with smoother line release and retrieval, reducing the likelihood of tangles.
