The Cetma Lotus Carbon dismountable fins, already tested in comparison with the Molchanovs Sport 3 Carbon, confirm today they absolute leadership in the segment of the freediving dismountable carbon blade fins category. Already tested by Luciano Morelli and Michele Tomasi some time ago, the fins have been tested again recently with both athletes, at the Y-40. With a wider view and knowledge of all the products of the same type on the market, the fins by the Italian leading company in the freediving world, Cetma Composites, have been confirmed as the point of reference performance wise in their segment.

Dismountable fins with natural rubber foot pockets

First of all, we must consider that the Cetma Lotus Carbon fins have a great characteristic, they are dismountable. This permits easy carrying around during travel, and also the quick and easy change of the blades. This is possible both with the same carbon fiber solution, eventually changing the stiffness for different needs, such as a more stiff blade to work on the muscles during training, or putting on the more affordable Lotus polymer blades. Such solution can work extremely well when one wants to free dive for example in rocky areas and avoid damages to the carbon blades, still having a good performance to enjoy the dives.

The best performance with good comfort

Michele Tomasi

After having tried the similar solutions by Molchanovs and C4 Carbon, the Cetma Lotus Carbon are confirmed definitely as the best performing dismountable carbon fiber freediving fins. “The performance and fun generated during the dive with the Cetma Lotus Carbon is amazing. I have never tried a fin which puts together so much performance and ease of use and fun as the Cetma Lotus Carbon. Another plus is the comfort.”, comments Michele Tomasi.

“I mean, if with the Lotus Carbon you do not reach the amazing performance, thrust and hydrodynamic efficiency as the world n1 fins, the Cetma Taras, you definitely gain in comfort. You will not be able to use the Cetma Lotus Carbon for very long training sessions, but indeed they will work fine for a good number of dives, be them in CWT or DYN. Differently, we know the Cetma Taras are 100% performance oriented, which sacrifices the comfort. Of course the foot pocket makes the difference in the two cases. Still, the use of natural rubber in both the Taras and Lotus foot pockets permits to have the maximum elastic return on both. Of course the glued connection and the more advanced design of the Taras give that additional force transmission and sliding effect that have made them such a point of reference in freediving competitions.

In conclusion, the Cetma Lotus Carbon put together and amazing mix of performance and comfort. Some other dismountable freediving carbon fins on the market might be better in comfort for long training sessions, but as of today, for my experience, they will not reach the excellent performance of the Cetma Lotus Carbon”.

Luciano Morelli

“The Cetma Lotus Carbon fins are still today the most performing dismountable carbon fiber freediving fins, even though some competition is close. Still, the thrust produced by the Lotus Carbon is unbeatable in their segment. Of course, compared to the Cetma Taras there is indeed a difference, where the thrust, but especially the glide of the latter, are definitely superior to the Lotus Carbon. Still, the push given by the Lotus Carbon is the point of reference today in their segment.

The comfort of the Cetma Lotus foot pockets in natural rubber is good, and permits to keep the fins on our feet during training without discomfort. Of course, I am not talking about a 4 hours session, but definitely an hour of training is indeed possible. If we consider that the 100% performance focused Taras can be kept indicatively continuously only for 10 minutes before having to take a break, the Lotus Carbon are indeed an excellent solution for many, both for training and performance!”
