Octopus Freediving is an incredible company, leader in all the most useful freediving equipment. From nose clips to lanyards, from pulling systems to fluid goggles and more, Octopus Freediving is the point of reference for most freedivers around the world.
The company is trusted by the best freedivers worldwide, and has been making equipment since 2015 (the same year Apnea Passion Magazine was born!) for everyone who loves well-designed, high-quality, efficient and innovative freediving accessories. All their products are developed from start to finish in their prototype workshop in Geneva by Swiss designer and record-holder Pascal Berger (AIDA VWT -131m). Their stock is also located there.
Noseclips offer
One of the key products designed, produced and sold by Octopus Freediving is the noseclip, probably the most used around the world. The offer sees 4 different versions, the CLASSIC, the CARBON, the ALUMINIUM and the FAKIR. We have tried the first three models which are all really excellent, and show how much experience Octopus Freediving has in this sector. Among the three models the athletes of the Apnea Passion Team have voted the Aluminium version as the Best Choice 2025 and the Carbon version as the Best Value 2025 one. This means Octopus has indeed won both prizes in the nose clips category. Well done!
Aluminium noseclip
Beautiful and excellently designed, the Octopus Aluminium noseclip is complete with natural suede leather pads that adhere perfectly to the nose. Made from AL6061 aluminum, the nose clip combines light weight, excellent corrosion resistance and precise machining, ensuring durability and consistent performance in salt water. The perfect anodization additionally protects from corrosion, giving an unbeatable beautiful look. The material provides the right balance between strength and flexibility, delivering a secure yet comfortable grip on the nose without excessive pressure, even during long freediving sessions. In our tests, the oval design of the pads adapts greatly to most noses, be them big or small, of women or men. The great number of beautiful anodized colours offered is definitely a plus.
The natural suede leather pads last really long, and in fact during months of testing they did not seem to suffer any deterioration, even at sea (simply rinse them after the diver and dont leave them in direct sun). Still, the substitutable natural suede leather pads permit to keep your Octopus Aluminium noseclip always perfectly functioning. The price of 59€ on the Octopus Freediving website is a very competitive price for such accessory. As reference, the Lobster metal solution, which in our tests has been considered less practical than the Octopus, costs 79€. The aluminium and natural suede leather materials are also the most environmentally friendly option. Carbon noseclip
Only 36€ on the Octopus Freediving website for their Carbon noseclip is really an excellent price, and it includes two comfortable and replaceable elastomer nose-pads and a strong quality leash! The elliptic design of the pads of this version of the noseclip by the Swiss company for the Apnea Passion Team has worked slightly better than the Classic noseclip. Still, this depends a lot on the shape of the nose, as the Carbon noseclip has elliptic pads, whereas the Classic version has round ones. Additionally, for only 3 € difference between the Carbon and the Classic, the robust carbon polymer structure has convinced us more, also considering durability in time. In addition to the two replacement elastomer nose-pads, more can be bought separately and are offered in 3 different colours. The Octopus Carbon is indeed the 2025 Best Value by Apnea Passion noseclip.
