After the x-rays of the C4 Carbon Camo Skin Med wetsuit, here is the test made by our Founder and Editor in Chief, Carlo Forni.
Wearing and fit
“I have tested the 5 mm C4 Carbon Skin wetsuit, both for the pants and the jacket, even though it is possible to buy different thicknesses of the two parts. I must say that the dressing phase is extremely easy and comfortable. The neoprene of the wetsuit is very soft, typical of C4 Carbon wetsuits, and still the external lining helps to avoid any accidental tear. The seams are strong and resistant, and this additionally helps to avoid and damage to the wetsuit during the dressing phase.
The feel on the body is very good, thanks to the softness of the neoprene. There are absolutely no areas where comfort is not maximum. Eventually, only the chin is slightly critical as in my case it tend slightly to slip. This is though an issue I often have and can be specific to my face and the fact I have a beard which evidently does not permit to the open cell internal surface of the neoprene to perfectly adhere to the skin.”

In the water
Again, even during the finning phase the C4 Carbon Skin Med wetsuit is extremely comfortable. The seams cannot be felt in any area of the body and the cut is great. There are no areas where water sacs are formed, so the thermal insulation is insured.

What maybe I would have preferred is to have longer length and arms, maybe just a couple of centimeters, which would better fit on top of gloves and socks which, when correctly worn, are positioned under the wetsuit. It is also true that I have particularly long arms so it is partially a request for my specific physique.
The thermal insulation is very good, but the neoprene apparently feels slightly thinner then the thickest 5 mm solutions. In fact, not all neoprene is the same, and the thickness measurement is not identical from company to company. C4 Carbon does not release the producer of the neoprene, and this is absolutely acceptable, but the feeling is that the thickness is 5 mm minus and not 5 mm plus. This definitely leads to additional comfort, but a slightly reduced thermal insulation.

At the same time, the seals between jacket and pants, also thanks to the good double toggle jacket closure, is great, which is a plus for thermal insulation.
The chest support has good dimensions, protects perfectly, even when loading long and powerful spearguns, and is perfectly positioned.
Camouflage
The Med camouflage of the C4 Carbon Skin wetsuit is great and perfectly adapts to most sea floors. The variations of light and darker brown with black, and the micro elements appearing somehow as scales of a fish put together the camo of the colours with the image breakdown solution. Finally, personally, the look of the C4 Carbon Camo Skin Med wetsuit is great with its aggressive design!
