Cetma Composites has already launched a very particular wetsuit on the market, the internally lined and externally smooth neoprene, the high level Carbon Skin Pro. Today the Italian company launches a more standard solution with the Cetma Black Camu, which though positions itself at a high level thanks to materials and important details. We have received the Cetma Black Camu i the 5 mm solution (available also in 3mm) and have given it a good look. Here is what we found before even going in the water.
Yamamoto 39
Cetma Composites never launches low quality products, or simply value for money ones. From the carbon fiber fins, such as the Mantra Competition, or the Lotus Carbon, to carbon fiber spearguns like the Uragano, the Arrow and the Canova, but also the 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion winner, the Shark, to simpler accessories like the nose clip Double C, there is never a product showing low quality. And indeed the Cetma Black Camu spearfishing wetsuit follows the same path.

The new spearfishing wetsuit, in fact, shows its quality immediately starting from the neoprene, a Yamamoto 39, with the double XX Yamamoto logo correctly well printed at the base of the jacket. We are not talking about the even higher quality Yamamoto 45, which would mean selling the Black Camu at a higher price, but indeed the Yamamoto 39 insures good elasticity and comfort, united with durability. This is key, as some competitors on the market do offer very soft wetsuits, but with a neoprene that after just a few uses loses elasticity, shape and squeezes, ending with very reduced thermal insulation capacities.
Camouflage

The camouflage of the Cetma Black Camu spearfishing wetsuit is very interesting. The base is black, widely present on the wetsuit, with the aim of reproducing the dark shadowy areas of the seabed, near big rock where the spearo can hide during aspetto or ambush techniques. The lighter color parts are instead reproducing sandy parts of the seabed. Cetma Composites indicates that the camouflage of the Black Camu wetsuit can adapt to 90% of the seabed types.
Details and resistance
The Cetma Black Camu spearfishing wetsuit is definitely designed to last. Apart from the high quality Yamamoto 39 neoprene, every detail is in its place. All borders, of ankles, cap and wrists, are finished with a folded externally lined neoprene, which gives resistance and comfort.

Additionally, and this is key for a long lasting wetsuit, is the addition of neoprene “buttons” in most quadruple connections of the neoprene, which are evidently the more stressed ones. These are the wrists, ankles, chin, base of the jacket. The jacket closure is made with double clips on the beaver tail.

Cut
The design of the cut of the Cetma Black Camu spearfishing wetsuit is made to be of course anatomical, but also to reduce the number of neoprene sheets, which means fewer stitches. This improves of course comfort, softness and elasticity of the wetsuit. The back of the jacket, for example, has no central stitches and is a one single continuous neoprene sheet.

Looking at the high waist pants, a critical area, which is the one behind the knees, is made with two stitches, none of which are at the hight of the bend of the leg, avoiding annoying contacts between such a delicate area of the skin of the leg and the stitches.

Protections
The protections are a very strong point of the Cetma Black Camu spearfishing wetsuit. On the knees, large Supratex elements are present. Such material is the strongest and more protective solution for neoprene. The only slight issue as it takes longer to dry.

The same Supratex cover is present on the chest protection. This is thickened with an additional layer of neoprene. Also, the external layer has Puffgum elements which have a strong anti slip effect. Loading even long and powerful spearguns is so extremely easy with no risk of pain on the chest.

Supratex is also present at the base band of the jacket, making such area extremely resistant and voluntarily stiffer, to obtain a better seal on the pants.
