Full range of freediving and spearfishing fins

The Mares range of freediving and spearfishing fins is aboslutely complete, with polymer, glass fiber and carbon fiber blade solutions. The footpockets are always the excellent X-Wing, very comfortable and adapt to use both with and without socks. Simply take care to select the size considering it refers to the size you would need without socks, so adding the socks you will need an additional size up.

X-Wing FD technopolymer blade fins

The Mares X-Wing FD fins with technopolymer blade are a really high quality offer. Valued by Apnea Passion Magazine among the best polymer blade fins on the market, both for the quality of the foopocket, comfortable and with great transmission of thrust from the foot to the blade, and the blade itself, able to give excellent thrust despite not being a composite material solution.

Mares X-Wing Short FD fins with technopolymer blade

The Online Exclusive X-Wing FD fins available are two: the X-Wing FD blu version, and the X-Wing Short FD pink version. The X-Wing FD is designed with a long blade of 71,3 cm of length and 19 cm of width, while the X-Wing Short FD has a 61,3 cm long blade with 18 cm of width. For both, the angle between the footpocket and the blade is 30°, a very modern and efficient solution. The V shaped profile of the flap stabilized the finning even without big water rails. The blades in both cases are considered soft, but still the special technopolymer and the variable thickness of the blade permit high performance.

The prices? Amazing! 89€ for the X-Wing FD and 79€ for the X-Wing Short FD, including free delivery, the most competitive prices on the market today for high performance technopolymer fins. But remember, they can be bought only online on the Mares.com website selecting your country.

X-Wing Fiber glass blade fins

Mares X-Wing Fiber glass fins

The Mares X-Wing Fiber glass blade fins are something also amazing for quality and price. The full fins can be purchase with the online exclusive offer for only 199€, and again the price includes free shipping. But let’s see the quality of these very interesting freediving fins, which can indeed also be used for spearfishing.

X-Wing footpockets

The first big value of the Mares X-Wing Fiber fins is the footpocket, and here is why. The new Mares X-Wing footpocket is indeed a very refined and well designed solution. First of all, it is made of two different hardness rubbers, where the light grey one is tougher, while the darker is softer. More specifically, one rubber is 80 Shore and the other 65 Shore. This is based on the concept for which the foot transmits the force pressing mainly on the instep and on the base of the foot. Creating a stiffer X on the instep is a very good solution.

Also, the central part of the X is visibly thinner than the two bands, which also sum their strength, positioned on the sides of the foot-pocket. This permits to have a stiffer upper part of the foot-pocket, but still not too much on the central part. This is where the navicular bone, the higher one, is pressing. Higher comfort is then insured.

As anticipated, the sole of the foot-pocket is made of stiffer rubber to better transmit the force. The need of a stiffer sole is practically a universal idea on which everybody agrees. Such lighter grey stiffer rubber continues also along the lateral rails. These are short (measured 10 cm), as the modern solutions require, leaving almost all the elastic effort to the blade.

The X-Wing foot-pocket is preformed to 30°. The weight of the X-Wing foot-pocket size 42-43 is 350 grams, surely light.

Glass fiber blade

The lightweight, highly reactive prepreg fiberglass blades feature a variable thickness profile and a parabolic flex pattern, delivering an excellent balance of power, efficiency and kicking comfort. The length of the blade is 67 cm and it is 19.5 cm wide. The external surface is protected by a thin plastic film, of a nice polygon design, which helps protect the composite material from shocks and scratches, without influencing the performance of the blade. The variable-height side water rails optimize flow while allowing the blades to flex naturally throughout the finning cycle, improving propulsion and reducing leg fatigue. Available in Soft and Medium stiffness versions to match the diver’s weight and kicking style, the X-Wing Fiber fins are ideal for divers who prefer a medium finning cadence.

X-Wing C-Evo carbon fiber blade fins

Mares X-Wing C-Evo carbon fiber fins

The top of the line carbon fiber blades fins by Mares, the X-Wing C-Evo, have probably, among the Online Exclusive offer of freediving and spearfishing fins, the most amazing price, only 299€, including free shipping. There are very few good quality carbon fiber fins today on the market able to match such low price. And the X-Wing C-Evo are of an incredible high quality level.

Premium T700 Prepreg carbon fiber for Deep Freediving and Spearfishing

The Mares X-Wing C-Evo represent the pinnacle of the Mares Pure Passion carbon fin technology. Designed for demanding freedivers and deep spearfishers, these premium fins combine high-modulus T700 prepreg carbon fiber, advanced manufacturing processes and refined hydrodynamic solutions to maximize efficiency, responsiveness and propulsion at depth.

Premium T700 prepreg carbon construction

Unlike conventional carbon fins, the X-Wing C-Evo blades are manufactured using prepreg T700 carbon fiber, where each layer is pre-impregnated with resin before the molding process. This technology ensures an optimal resin-to-fiber ratio, resulting in a lighter, stronger and significantly more consistent blade.

Each blade is built with 12 carefully oriented carbon fiber layers, specifically engineered to maximize longitudinal flex while minimizing unwanted lateral deformation. The optimized fiber orientation allows the blade to store and release energy efficiently throughout every kick, delivering outstanding responsiveness with reduced energy expenditure.

The manufacturing process involves high-pressure molding inside precision aluminum molds, producing blades with exceptional structural integrity, excellent cosmetic quality and highly consistent flex characteristics.

Designed for maximum efficiency underwater

The 750 mm blade length, 19 cm wide, makes the X-Wing C-Evo the ideal choice for deep freediving and deep spearfishing, where maximum glide efficiency and sustained propulsion become essential.

A 30° blade angle between the blade and the ergonomic X-Wing foot pocket keeps the ankle in a natural position during the kick cycle, reducing muscular fatigue while improving power transmission throughout long dives.

America’s Cup-inspired hydrodynamics

One of the most distinctive features of the X-Wing C-Evo is its micro-textured blade surface, inspired by the advanced hydrodynamic finishes developed for the latest America’s Cup racing yachts.

This innovative surface treatment helps reduce water friction, improving glide efficiency and allowing divers to convert more of their kicking effort into forward propulsion, especially during deep ascents and long underwater swims.

Convex blade profile for superior thrust

Unlike shorter Mares carbon and composite blades, the X-Wing C-Evo features a convex blade tip profile specifically developed to maximize the effective working surface of the blade.

This geometry optimizes water flow during both the power and recovery phases of the kick, generating greater thrust, higher cruising efficiency and improved maximum speed while maintaining smooth, progressive blade flex.

Soft and Medium stiffness options

To accommodate different diver weights, leg strength and kicking styles, the Mares X-Wing C-Evo is available in both Soft and Medium stiffness versions.

This allows each diver to select the blade that best matches their physical characteristics, ensuring maximum efficiency without unnecessary muscular fatigue during long training sessions, deep freediving dives or demanding spearfishing excursions.

High-performance carbon fins for serious divers

With their T700 prepreg carbon construction, advanced hydrodynamic design, optimized flex profile and premium manufacturing quality, the Mares X-Wing C-Evo stand among the most technologically advanced carbon freediving fins currently available. They are engineered for divers seeking maximum propulsion, exceptional energy return and long-lasting performance during deep freediving and spearfishing.

This combination of lightweight construction, efficient power transfer and refined hydrodynamics makes the X-Wing C-Evo an excellent choice for experienced freedivers and spearfishers looking to maximize performance in demanding underwater conditions.
