The world leader in the design of spearfishing wetsuits wins the 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion with the Cressi Posidonia. The Italian company has launched on the market and amazingly comfortable wetsuit. Beyond the presence of all top quality details on the Cressi Posidonia, it is the cut which is really excellent. It has a more comfortable cut than the Cressi Seppia, dedicated specifically to slim to standard physiques. The Posidonia instead adapts to any physique, be the diver a big and bulky or slim and lean build. All this with zero sacs of air/water anywhere inside the wetsuit. In the end, at the Apnea Passion International Awards Camp 2025, all of the athletes who have tried the Cressi Posidonia have concluded it deserved the Best Choice 2025.

Cressi Posidonia wetsuit; 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion Magazine winner

The Cressi Posidonia wetsuit stands out not only for its performance, but also for its eco-friendly construction. The neoprene foam is laminated using Aqua-Alpha, a highly durable, water-based adhesive that is non-toxic and solvent-free. Instead of petrochemical products, the neoprene is made with limestone mineral, reducing environmental impact. Carbon black, another key ingredient, is obtained through the pyrolysis of discarded tires, cutting energy use and lowering CO2 emissions by around 200 g per wetsuit. The camouflage fabric is produced with polyester yarns derived from recycled plastic bottles, helping to reduce waste and save raw materials.

Great cut plus top Sheico material

Before going to see the reviews by Apnea Passion Team, a comment is needed on the incredible adaptability of the Cressi Posidonia to almost any physique. It all starts with the cut connected to the material. The neoprene used by Cressi for the Posidonia wetsuit is a top quality Sheico of medium density. This insures great thermal insulation and elasticity, still avoiding excessive squeeze during deep dives and in time. The life and thermal insulation of the wetsuit is so guaranteed. The external lining of the Cressi Posidonia wetsuit is a simil Lycra polyester material with great elasticity in all directions. At the same time there is always a direction which is slightly more elastic then the other. For such reason, Cressi has deeply studied the perfect combination and orientation of the neoprene sheets so that the maximum elasticity is there where it is best and normally along the circumferences.

Additionally, Sheico not only the supplier of the neoprene, but also the manufacturer of the wetsuit following the specific design requested by Cressi. This is another plus compared to finding any general Asian manufacturer without the quality guaranteed by Sheico.

Finally, according to Cressi, Sheico not only has great quality of the neoprene, but also of additional elements such as the chest, elbows and knees protections are perfectly manufactured and made to last.

Claudio Marconcini – Slim

Claudio Marconcini, Apnea Passion Team, testing the Cressi Posidonia wetsuit; 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion Magazine winner at the 2025 International Awards Camp

“On me, being tall and slim, the fit of the size I tried (I don’t remember which one it was) is almost perfect, meaning there’s very little air circulation between the suit and the body. The smooth edges around the face, wrists, and ankles, together with the Aqua Stop system on the pants, minimize water entry as much as possible. I had long spearfishing sessions with this wetsuit, both in shallow water doing ambush and hole fishing, and down to 25 m for ambush and waiting.

Water temperature was 20° at the surface and 17° at depth, and I only felt a bit cold at the end of the dive during the deeper aspettos. So, great thermal insulation. I always used the same weighting both in shallow and deep water, and the wetsuit does not compress much, which means the material has excellent memory. As for the camouflage, I won’t comment yet because I need more sessions to give a reliable opinion, but it looks great.”

Carlo Forni – Standard

Cressi Posidonia wetsuit; 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion Magazine winner at the 2025 International Awards Camp

“The Cressi Posidonia has all the best quality details, such as smooth folded neoprene borders on cap, wrists and ankles, double clips for the beavertail, absolutely no seams touching the skin in any area of the wetsuit, not even the chin. But what really impresses is the perfect fit. I have not really had ever big problems with standard westuits, but some small sacs of water were always present, especially at the lower back. With the Cressi Posidonia there were zero! Additionally, the comfort given by the combination of a great cut and a very soft neoprene, still with though its structure, was really maximum.

I have tried a huge number of standard wetsuits in the last 10 years as director of Apnea Passion magazine, and some very soft neoprenes did not convince as with time they squeezed too much and also lost their shape. The Cressi Posidonia, which we are continuing to test also after the International Awards Camp, seems really to keep its elastic and thermal qualities unvaried. Some slight fabric folds appear externally, but they do not compromise rthe performance of the wetsuit.”

Fabio Mura – Bulky

“Even before trying the Cressi Posidonia on, what striked me the most about this wetsuit is the cut design, particularly refined and immediately showing its pre-shaped structure. The chest and knee reinforcements are excellent, the logos well placed and beautiful, and the color perfectly matches the mixed grotto–posidonia seabeds. Tested at the end of May with water temperature not exceeding 20 degrees, the wetsuit proved to be very warm, also thanks to the very high-waisted pants and the Aqua-Stop system. Overall, it is a mid-season wetsuit, as later in 2025 the water became almost too warm to keep using it.”
