Introduction – A true manufacturer approach

The Pescador Carbon Power speargun represents a top-of-the-line solution by Pescador Sub, clearly positioned as a real manufacturer. Unlike many competitors relying on outsourced components, Pescador designs and produces key elements in-house. Not only handles, release mechanisms, barrels, muzzles and an infinite number of accessories, but also carbon fiber elements such as the advanced preformed carbon fiber barrel.

The heart: the preformed carbon barrel

Pescador Carbon Power speargun preformed carbonb fiber barrel designed and manufactured in-house

The core of the Pescador Carbon Power is its preformed carbon fiber barrel, entirely designed and manufactured by Pescador Sub and not sourced from standard Asian production.

The design focuses on hydrodynamic balance and rigidity:

  • Section near handle: 6.5 x 4 cm, wide and buoyant
  • Transition to circular section
  • Diameter in circular area: 31 mm (vs standard 28 mm) with internal 26 mm diameter

This increased and thick diameter delivers higher rigidity, better load resistance and improved shot stability.

On the tested 110 cm version, the barrel length measures 114 cm, effectively giving more usable length and performance than nominal size. Available versions are carbon look and camouflage.

Release mechanism – power and efficiency

The inverted trigger mechanism is fully made of chrome-treated stainless steel, ensuring high durability, corrosion resistance and long-term performance consistency.

Key highlight are the 129 cm band stretch on a 110 cm speargun. This is a massive value and directly translates into more power, better energy transfer and higher precision. The side line release lever is also steel and well sized, although slightly thin. The trigger design itself is engineered to maximize structural rigidity.

Handle – comfort and control

The handle is anatomical and symmetrical, suitable for both right and left-handed users, and equipped with anti-slip dotted surfaces. Notable features are the large and comfortable chest loading butt, rubber insert for improved grip, and side wings for monofilament routing, simple but very effective. The loading butt has a V-shaped superior profile which helps clean the line of aim.

The safety system uses a sliding button. It is functional, but could be more tactile and easier to perceive during use.

Muzzle – Cobra design efficiency

The Cobra open muzzle features dual circular band passages and optimized band alignment. The key strength is the parallel positioning of the bands to the shaft, which improves efficiency, accuracy and shot power.

Elastic bands – Primeline performance

Pescador uses Primeline elastic bands, widely recognized as one of the top producers in the industry. They are 16 mm diameter, with Dyneema wishbones and easy-fit plastic inserts by Pescador. These bands guarantee strong and progressive power together with long durability.

Shaft – fully in-house production

The shaft confirms the manufacturer DNA of Pescador. The material is stainless steel HRC 48–52, burnished, with 4 shark fins, 2 with holes, quadricuspid tip and single upper barb (7.5 cm). This setup ensures excellent penetration and strong holding capability.

Reel – light but improvable

The standard reel is made of plastic and is slightly too offset from the barrel. However, it is very light, which improves balance in the water. A steel version is also available as an upgrade.

Final thoughts – engineering over marketing

The Pescador Carbon Power speargun stands out for one clear reason: it is engineered and built, not assembled. A speargun designed for serious spearfishers who value performance, structure and real engineering, not just branding.
