There are quite some diving masks with antifog lenses on the market since indicatively one year. Some have protective films on the lenses to avoid fogging, other have a special treatment of the lenses. Only Seac has that same treatment applied twice for longer lasting protection.
Wild, Clear, and Pura Anti Fog masks
Seac offers 3 different models of mask with Anti Fog treatment, the Wild, the Clear and the Pura. The first is a very compact frameless solution, perfect for deep dives, the second is a more traditional mask with frame, but still compact, and the third is a monolens mask. All the three of them can be used for spearfishing and freediving, offering great field of view.
Anti Fog Treatment

The Anti Fog treatment used for the lenses of the 3 masks by Seac is without protective film, but with a thermal process.
The lenses are in fact put in a special hoven and brought to 80°C. This heating makes the pores of the lenses expand. At this stage the pores are treated with plasma material, that is absorbed by the lenses. As already indicated, the application of the plasma is repeated a second time to be sure all the pores of the lenses are properly treated.
In such way, the lenses gain the capacity to somehow attract a very thin layer of water, becoming what is called an hydrophilic. Such term indicates surfaces that attract a very very thin layer if water spreading it very uniformly, without the creation of drops. This determines, evidently, that with such thin layer the lenses cannot get foggy anymore.
Activation

To utilize the mask properly, it is key to activate the lenses before the dive. The mask must be in fact dipped in the water for around a minute, but the more the better. With the fingers we must spread the water all around the internal surface of the lenses. The lenses activate keeping a very thin layer of water stuck to their internal surface. The mask is ready to be used and no fog at all will create on the internal wall of the lenses.
