The Sea Hunter Fury speargun in the double circular rubbers version wins the 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion in the category spearguns above 200€ This is not by chance, as Sea Hunter is an extremely interesting Italian Company, with amazingly well finished and performing products, starting from the spearguns line.
The top of the line model speargun by Sea Hunter is definitely the Fury Carbon Pro, a preformed carbon fiber barrel solution available in double rubber, Roller or Vela system. All three are amazing, but we found the double rubber a real winner in the segment of spearguns above 200€ cost. The perceived and real quality of every component, the perfect assembly and, most of all, the great buoyancy in the water and performance, have led us to definitely award the Sea Hunter Fury Carbon pro double rubber as the Best Choice 2025 in its category. We have tested the amazing 85 cm version.
Weight and buoyancy
Light and perfectly balanced (adjustable) in the water thanks to its preformed cuttlefish bone shaped 100% carbon fiber barrel, the Sea Hunter Fury speargun generates an amazingly precise shot with great recoil control. The special Sea Hunter design of the barrel in fact controls the slight backward movement when the shot is released, keeping the recoil along the axis of the barrel, with no upward or downward movement of the muzzle. Precision is ensured!
We have received a neutral setup of the Sea Hunter Fury, that the Apnea Passion Team testers have evaluated slightly light at the tip. This aspect is though easily adjustable as the Fury still has the possibility to be setup with a lighter tip adjusting the ballast inside the point of the barrel.
Shot
The double circular Tsunami Red 14.5 mm bands by Sea Hunter are a great solution. The shot generated is amazingly satisfactory, with great power and explosivity of the bands, without though going beyond a limit which would generate a loss of precision. All this is of course also determined by the great design of the Fury, its preformed carbon fiber barrel, the great 100% stainless steel release mechanism, and the perfectly designed Sea Hunter Cobra muzzle.
Release mechanism
The lock of the shaft in the 100% release mechanism of the Sea Hunter Fury is practically perfect each time one reloads the speargun. The sensitivity of 100% stainless steel trigger is among the best on the market, while the release of the shaft is exactly when one wants it. We have not been able to do any durability test on the release mechanism, but during the International Awards Camp there has been no sign of wear or changes in the functioning and sensitivity of the trigger. This, even though there is no rolling wheel system, which often is used to avoid wear and changes of performance of the release system. The line release lever, even though it could be bigger, has a great design and the monofilament has never been lost during the action.
Cobra muzzle
We have already described the Sea Hunter Cobra muzzle as compact, excellently designed to position the bands nicely parallel to the shaft. Additionally, the elements for the monofilament positioning are well designed for a safe retention of the latter. Overall, the Cobra muzzle is one of the best on the market.

Claudio Marconcini
I tested well the Sea Hunter Fury Carbon Pro speargun (double circular bands). This speargun gave me a great impression – it’s solid and well designed.
Maneuverability is good, even vertically, despite the barrel widening towards the handle.
The shot, with double 14.5 mm bands, is explosive and stretches both wraps of the shooting line.
The buoyancy is a little positive at the tip, to the point that it slightly tires the wrist when trying to keep it aligned with the target – but I know it can be adjusted as desired, so “problem” solved.
One suggestion for improvement goes to the Hunt Derlin reel. It’s nice and compact, robust and perfectly attached to the speargun. Still, the drag system is not very functional. It works in steps, which could be acceptable at the beginning of tightening, but as you approach full lock it becomes too stiff, and even releasing it is difficult. Also in this case, the choice of reels is amazingly wide, so the possibility to chose a different model permits to select one that adapts better to one’s needs and tastes.
In any case, the Sea Hunter Fury Carbon double circular bands is a great speargun and also aesthetically the best speargun at the Camp and probably the best or one of the best on the market. It well deserves the 2025 Best Choice by Apnea Passion award in its category.
Roberto Poggioli
In general, the Sea Hunter spearguns tested at the camp are all excellent. In particular, the Sea Hunter Fury Carbon Pro stands out for the added possibility of adjusting the buoyancy already at the time of purchase.
The bands and shaft of the Sea Hunter are outstanding, with a precise and powerful shot, yet well balanced, never sacrificing accuracy.
The overall design of the Sea Hunter Fury Carbon Pro is stunning, with quality above most spearguns on the market.
Maneuverability is very good, and the Fury handles extremely well in the water. Buoyancy is a little positive at the tip, so it should be adjusted better by Sea Hunter, as it is not neutral. This nis done by the Italian Brand at the time of sale, I only suggest to evaluate better the neutral setup.
The 100% stainless steel trigger mechanism works flawlessly, with the right sensitivity and trigger placement. I would have appreciated, as seen on many other modern spearguns, a longer line release lever. I don’t understand the current trend of minimizing its size, when just a few more millimeters in length would better accommodate multiple wraps of monofilament. This is especially relevant given the excellent power of the shot, both in the double band version and, even more so, in the Vela configuration.
Best Choice 2025
Carlo Forni – The over 200€ sling spearguns of the Best Choice award is extremely rich of offer. We have been analyzing the market and the best products of the category and it was not easy to chose a winner. But when we have analyzed and tested the Sea Hunter Fury, we found a speargun with outstanding qualities. Nor only does it have top level components, starting from the cuttlefish bone shaped carbon fiber barrel, specifically designed by and produced for Sea Hunter, but every single detail and coupling of components is perfect.
The Founder and Owner of Sea Hunter, Enrico Corona, with his maniacal attention to every detail, has, with the Fury Carbon Pro, put together an unbeatable speargun for performance and both real and perceived quality. Even those very few aspects which Marconcini and Poggioli have indicated as improvable, as any speargun has, are actually adjustable easily already at the time of the order of the speargun. Congratulations to Enrico Corona and Sea Hunter for making it into the realm of the greats with their first Best Choice award!
