Sea Hunter – Born to Hunt, is an extremely interesting Italian Brand, with amazingly well-finished and performing products, starting from the spearguns line. The top of the line model speargun by Sea Hunter is definitely the Fury, a preformed carbon fiber barrel solution available in double rubber, Roller or Vela system. Let’s analyse the double rubber.

Preformed carbon fiber barrel

Specific Sea Hunter design

Even though every component of the Sea Hunter Fury is top quality, the preformed carbon fiber barrel is definitely one which makes the difference. Don’t confuse this barrel with other stuff on the market, as today there is a huge number of Chinese carbon fiber barrels available for everyone to make their own speargun, but quality, design and performance are definitely a lower level. The Sea Hunter cuttlefish shaped carbon fiber barrel has been designed specifically with the specifications of the Italian Brand.

Balance, reduced recoil and high stiffness

The dimensions of the barrel, with its specific volumetrics are made to balance it perfectly in the water. The cuttlefish bone design helps to stabilize the speargun during the shot, reduce recoil, and improve lateral swing. Also, the design of the barrel optimizes the rigidity acting there where stiffness is particularly needed as load forces are acting more intensely.

A great additional strong point about the Sea Hunter Fury is that the Italian brand asks the customer if he or she wants the speargun to have a neutral buoyancy, or to be a little positive or negative at the tip. Considering that everyone of us has his own preferences, it is a great fine tuning. Sea Hunter will regulate the ballast inside the tip of the Fury for the perfect setup.

One piece carbon fiber

The Sea Hunter barrel is made of a single sheet of carbon fiber, giving it an unbeatable compactness. This not only insures maximum stiffness, but also prevents any water to infiltrate between the layers of carbon fiber. An aspect of quality that must be underlined.

The matt surface of the barrel avoids reflects and the logos printed under the resin makes them extremely resistant to scratches, shocks and wear.

Perfectly designed integrated shaft guide

The 100% carbon fiber barrel features a full-length shaft guide. The barrel has a maximum width of 72 mm, a maximum height, including the integrated shaft guide, of 32 mm, an internal diameter of 26 mm, and an external tube section of 30 mm.
The shaft guide height offset has been carefully engineered to align perfectly with the shaft guide present both on the handle and the muzzle.

100% steel release mechanism

The release mechanism of the Sea Hunter Fury is made 100% of 316L marine steel, including a nicely designed trigger and side line release lever. The system is made to obtain the best possibile sensitivity and smoothness when pulling the trigger. It is possible to load shafts from 6 to 8 mm. The side release lever, small but well designed, can be easily moved from left to right and viceversa simply releasing an Allen screw. The release mechanism is well designed and machined, even though it does not have the roller system steel wheel.

Handle

The handle is slightly anatomical and symmetrical, so adapt for left and right handers. The grip is well covered with a hard rubber element which generates a very good anti-slip effect. The hand positions itself perfectly between the grip and the speargun butt. The latter is well dimensioned with a nice wide U shaped upper profile to permit a nice clear view of the line of aim. The frontal part of the handle has two side wings that are perfect for keeping the monofilament in position and out if the line of aim.

What is very interesting is the reduced to the extreme offset between the hand, with the index finger as a reference, and the shaft. We have measured it equal to only 2.2 mm, amazing! This determines a great control of the recoil, greater power and much more intuitive shot.

Cobra muzzle

The Sea Hunter Cobra muzzle is one of the best solutions on the market. It puts together a very compact design, great and safe passages for the line and perfect profiles for the best positioning of the bands as parallel as possible ti the shaft. This helps the precision and intuitiveness of the shot, and also increases efficiency and performance.

The designo of the Sea Hunter Cobra muzzle is made with open passages, so the circular bands can be quickly and easily substituted even when in the water. The Cobra muzzle is available in black and red for a nice matching with the accessories, in a care also of aesthetical detail on which Sea Hunter is also very nicely focused on.

Coupling

Another key element of the Sea Hunter Fury is the connection of handle to barrel to muzzle. The alignment is absolutely perfect, something you don’t always see on spearguns. The connection is made with a cap and double Sikaflex glue, making the coupling 100% water tight and durable in time.

Tsunami Red bands

The Sea Hunter Tsunami Red bands mounted on the Fury are 14.5 x 2 mm with inner hole. Their composition delivers exceptional and extremely long acceleration throughout the entire shooting range. Easy to load, but with an unmatched effort-to-power ratio.

Available lengths and accessories

85 and 105 cm

The Sea Hunter Fury is offered in the lengths 85 and 105 cm, which is not a huge range, and we would love to see more options for such an interesting speargun. On the other hand the setup solutions are a great quantity.

Shafts

The shaft is a Hunt specifically designed for Sea Hunter. The tip is complete with a penetration cone, while the barb has a reinforced pin for big catches. The shark fins are specifically positioned to facilitate loading and improve the total useful length to pull the bands. The Sea Hunter Fury can be requested with 6.5 or 7 mm diameter shaft, single or double barb.

Reels

Also the reels line is extremely rich. In detail, the range includes both vertical and horizontal models made of Derlin, including versions with demo hooks and line capacities of 50 or 80 meters. For those seeking enhanced performance and durability, Derlin and titanium vertical reels are also offered in 50 and 80-meter capacities. At the top of the line are the Fury Gold Titanium reels, available in 30, 40, and 50-meter versions, combining advanced materials and premium construction for high-level use. The connection of the reel to the barrel is extremely strong and well designed.
