Germany is the seventh National Team participating to the 2016 Apnea Indoor World Championship, which will be held in Italy, in Lignano Sabbiadoro (UD), from the 6th to the 12th of June, to officialise the list of athletes.
Sandra Pilz, born in Leisnig, Austria, is athlete and head of the delegation of the German Team. Sandra has obtained different important results in her career in the finswimming specialty:
- 2010 European Championship: Champion in the 400m and 800m underwater
- 2011 World Championship: Bronze medal in the 800m underwater
- German Record holder in the 200m and 400m surface and 800m underwater
“It is my first experience as head of the team for the apnea Championship and I hope all goes well. I am really excited to see the competition”, comments Sandra.
The other two athletes of the German Team are: Max Poschart and Carolin Haase.
Carolin Haase was born the 25.09.1990 in Rostock, Germany, and her best results in the specialties of the World Championship are:
Apnea Speed 100 m *** – 42”67
Apnea Endurance 16×50 m *** – 13’17”
“I hope to do my best and swim faster than last year”, comments Carolin.
Max Poschart was born the 14.9.1994 in Leipzig, Germany. His best results in the specialties of the World Championship are:
Apnea Speed 100 m ***- 2015 World Champion and World Record holder (31”.97)
Apnea Endurance 16×50 m ***- 2015 World Champion and World Record holder (10’31”)
Max’s comments are of great enthusiasm: “I go to Italy with great motivation for my two races, and my aim is to confirm my leadership in the Speed Apnea 100 m and the Endurance Apnea 16×50 m. Maybe I will be able to beat my own records. Following the Italian Champs I will race in the CMAS Champs in Greece, in the finswimming specialty. Anyway, being happy and having fun is at the base of everything, as it has happened last year in Mulhouse!”
