This year championship will be interesting because it is the first national competition after retiremenf of greatest Croatian spearo ever, Daniel Gospic, who has won seven titles, five in a row from 2013 to 2017.
So it is the start of a new era after Daniel Gospic, who will still participate in the Championship, but like a boatmen for Mate Baresic (Periska Ploce), and it will be interesting to see which Croatian champion is coming next.
One of the favourites is the Croatian Roberto Mastromauro (Erik Radin Novigrad), who lives close to Novigrad and knows very well aquatorium where competition will be, and also has great support from local athletes and ex italian national team member Stefano Claut.
One of veterans, Boris Reinic (Luben Rijeka), is very strong in that area, but a lot of people also would put Stjepko Kesic between favourites, as he was always second behind Gospic.
Young hope are also having good and long preparations in the zones, such as Josko Petrov and Mate Baresic, so some surprise are not excluded.
