Technical characteristics
Muzzle and bands
The Picasso Magnum Rail Light has a very compact open muzzle made of 20% glass loaded Nylon, that can host two separated circular bands, the standard holds only one of 18 mm diameter with 3.5 (350%) elongation coefficient. The wishbone is a tied Dyneema solution. In the lower part a of the muzzle the passage of the line is made with a steel wire of good dimensions.
Barrel
The barrel is made with a 28 mm external diameter aeronautical aluminum alloy tube and integrated shaft rail guide. Thickness of the barrel tube walls is equal to 1 mm. Connection to the handle and the muzzle is obtained through rubber plugs.
Meccanismo di sgancio
Release mechanism is made in 100% 316 stainless steel, including the trigger, which has a very thin profile. The line release lever, also in 316 stainless steel, is lateral and of good dimensions and can be swapped to the other side. The security system is optional (Magnum optional safety, cost of 5 €) and made of a basculating steel arch connected to the hilt.
Handle
The handle has a slightly anathomical symmetrical left and right hander shape and is made in 20% glass loaded Nylon, just as the muzzle. The grip is covered with 100% natural rubber, red for the red camo version, and black for the green and brown versions.
In the bottom part of the handgrip there is a very large ring made of steel for positioning a line. A long and good dimensions dismountable gun butt is present, with a concave part in the upper profile for best line of aim. Similarly, in the frontal part of the handle on the sides two wings help position the line away from sight.
Shaft
The shaft is a 6.5 mm diameter Sandvik steel tempered and burnished single barb (in the upper side) solution, with 3 shark fins.
Comes with
Nylon line with sleeves.
In brief
The Picasso Magnum Rail Light is a very complete speargun, which evidently puts together performance and lightness of use. 100% 316 stainless steel for all key components, complete camu coverage, slim line with integrated shaft guide and nice natural rubber grip make the products a top offer. The only aspect that some would consider not of top level, is the rubber pulgs instead of O-rings in the connection muzzle-barrel-handle. The 1 mm barrel gives surely good lightness, helping buouancy and brandishing, but evidently could not be as rigid as reinforced or thicker wall solutions of other spearguns in this dossier.
