Cressi is definitely the leading company in the design and manufacturing of spearfishing wetsuits. After the two years in a row success of the Cressi Seppia wetsuit, conquering the Best Choice by Apnea Passion 2023 and 2024, this year the Italian Company has launched the Cressi Posidonia. This wetsuit has a more adaptable cut compared to the slim one of the Seppia, making the two wetsuits ideal for different physiques. Neoprene and insulation
The neoprene is a medium density solution with extremely elastic lining. The quality of the neoprene, and we will check that in our Test of the Champion column, coming soon, is indicated by Cressi to have the capacity of having an excellent elasticity and thermal insulation, with extremely limited squeezing at high depth. This means the thermal insulation and comfort are insured at all depths.
All the borders of wrists, ankles and cap are designed with the high quality solution of folded neoprene, externally smooth for best adherence to the skin and so greater thermal insulation, together with high comfort.
On the chin area the seams reache the face contour but then the finishing with bonded folded neoprene determines the absence of stitches on the final part of the chin under the inferior lip. This generates an even greater comfort and avoids the seams to come to contact with the most delicate part of the skin.
The jacket is closed on the pants with the uplevel solution of double toggle fastener.
Protections
The protections are definitely one of the aspects where Cressi has invested more on the Posidonia. Elbows and knees are perfectly protected with large pads of Supratex material, the strongest and most protective solution possible on wetsuits, still maintaining great softness and elasticity. The only small issue is that they absorb more water and so tend to require more time to dry.
The chest support is also well protected with a resistant lined cover. The protected area is wide, but the thick elements to create an additional protective layer are segmented to maintain the area as elastic as possible.
Camouflage
Even though the camouflage of a wetsuit is something more personal or linked to the sea floor of the spearfishing action, the Cryptic Camouflage Technology used to reproduce the Posidonia sea floor definitely adapts to most fo the situations and is a very interesting solution. The green to black colour with gold scales design helps on dark rocky and weed sea floors.
Offer
The Cressi Posidonia is available in 5 and 7 mm thicknesses, where the jacket and pants can be bought separately. This gives the very important opportunity for the customer to buy also a mix of thickness, such as, for example, 5 mm pants and 7 mm jacket.
