Sixth Dive In Cup international competition organized by Dive In Wetsuits company and Sports Fishing Association Harpun from Zadar, will be heald on this 5th of May.
Zone of competition
Spearfishing zone of the 2018 Dive In Cup is aquatorium of the islands Molat, Sestrunj, Zverinac and Dugi Otok. It is an attractive fishing zone, with potential superb catches. A lot of strong spearos from all over the world and relaxed atmosphere are the strong points of the competition, of which main aim is to promote spearfishing, Croatia as tourist destination and the city of Zadar as strong diving and fishing area.
Rules
At the Dive in CUp 2018 teams can consist of minimum two and maximum three participants and competition will run for six hours. Minimum weight for a fish is 400 grams, while maximal weight for points gain is 12.500 grams. Minimal weight for grouper is 3000 grams. Each gram of weight of valid fish is scored with 1 point. Extra points for each valid fish caught is 400 points. Every fish species is scored with 1000 points.
Allowed number of same fish species of category 1 is ten pieces per team. In such category are included: white sea bream, golden sea bream, mullets, salpa, red scorpionfish, black scorpionfish and brown meagre.
Allowed number of same fish species of category 2 is three pieces per team. In such category are included: dentex (and similar, such as pagrus), groupers, sharpsnout seabream, blacktail bream, forkbeard, brown wrasse, amberjack, mullus, cuckoo wrasse, leerfish, palamida, peacock wrasse, the bluefish, John Dory, barracuda, common dolphinfish (Coryphaena hippurus), sea bass, black sea bream, toothed trevally (pseudocaranx dentex), turbot.
Upon reaching the allowed number of same fish species, an additional bonus of 1000 points will be awarded.
If a competitor presents more than the maximum allowed fish of the same category, only maximum number will be taken to weighing, starting from smallest in weight, while other remaining fish shall not be taken into account. Species not listed in these categories are not a valid catch.
Game fish is awarded 1.500 points when weighing over 2.500 grams, without accounting weight points. Game fish species are: conger, catshark, anglerfish, stingray, moray eel, common eagle ray. Sharks (except catshark) and sunfish are not scored. Premium is not accounted for game fish. Allowed number of game fish is two pieces total. There will be no additional bonus awarded upon presenting maximum allowed number of game fish.
If a competitor presents more than two pieces of game fish, only 2 pieces shall be taken to weighing, starting from smallest in weight, while other remaining game fish shall not be taken into account.
Passed titles and 2018 participants
Ex World Champion, twice Euroafrican Champion and seven times Croatian Champion Daniel Gospic and his teammate Djani Uhac won four Cups.
Last year title was won by Team Italia with Giacomo de Mola, Stefano Claut, Angelo Ascione and Mirco Ominetti.
This year both teams will participate but, apart from them, in Zadar many great spearos will come to participate. For the moment list of teams look like this:
